i can tell you that the 20-some years that i was in business before i came to washington, i had the good fortune of working with a lot of wonderful people over the years, and to the best of my knowledge, i never had a client or customer that ever had their home foreclosed on. i think a lot of that was due to the fact that times were different, the economy was different, property values were escalating, so even -- probably the least focused salesmen and brokers could look like a hero because of inflated values. that hasn't been the case in the last several years. there have been many reasons for that. i would like to get back to 0 ms. hines and put the human side on this and see how we get into these swayings, whether we are dealing with predatory lenders, whether we are dealing with lack of oversight with the process of brokers and mortgages -- real estate brokers, mortgage brokers, and some personal responsibility. it is my understanding in your testimony that it was you and your sister that inherited the home from your mother and father that had lived in the home for at least 30 years
